These terms cover lakelvl.com and lakelvl lake level text alerts, operated by LAKE LVL, LLC ("lakelvl", "we"). By using the site or signing up for alerts you agree to them.

The data

Lake levels come from public sources including USGS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation, TVA, state agencies and utilities. Readings can be delayed, missing, revised or wrong, and a gauge can go offline. lakelvl is for general information only. Do not rely on it, or on our text alerts, for safety, navigation, flood or property decisions. Always follow the managing agency and local officials.

Text alerts: the program

• Program name: lakelvl lake level alerts.
• What you get: a text when a lake you choose drops below or rises above a level you set, or rises or falls more than an amount you set within 24 hours, plus one time sign in codes when you log in.
• How often: message frequency varies with your alerts and the lake; we text only when an alert you set triggers. Alerts that trigger between 10pm and 7am lake time are sent at 7am.
• Cost: $3 per month or $24 per year per phone number, covering up to 5 lakes. Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan.
• Opting out: reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and no further texts. Replying STOP also stops your plan from renewing; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, but texts will not be sent while you are opted out. Reply START to opt back in.
• Help: reply HELP, or reach us through our contact form.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported on major US carriers; US mobile numbers only.

Billing and cancellation

Plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled, and are billed through Stripe. Cancel anytime at lakelvl.com/alerts or by replying STOP; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and we do not issue partial refunds, except where the law requires it. If a payment fails, alerts stop until it is resolved. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by text or email before your next renewal.

No guarantee of delivery or timing

We check gauges on a schedule, so an alert can arrive some time after the level actually changed, and an alert can be missed if a source is down or a reading looks faulty. Our total liability for any claim relating to alerts is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Acceptable use

Sign up only numbers you own or are authorized to use. Don't abuse, scrape at high volume or interfere with the site. We may suspend service for misuse.

Sponsorships

• What you get: your business name, link and, if you send one, your logo on the lake page you sponsor, as the only sponsor on that page. A title sponsorship appears across the site. Sponsor listings are paid placements and are marked as such.
• Price and renewal: the price shown on the Sponsor button, billed through Stripe. Your sponsorship renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. For annual plans we email a reminder before each renewal.
• Cancelling: cancel anytime online at our billing page (the same link is in every receipt). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for and we do not issue partial refunds, except where the law requires it.
• Price changes: we will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies at your next renewal.
• Your content: you confirm you own or have the right to use the name, logo and link you give us. We may decline or remove a listing that is unlawful, misleading or infringes someone else's rights.

Embeds

Embedded gauges may be used on your own website with the lakelvl link intact.

The site and alerts are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
